Keith Coats, 80, Fredonia, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.

He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in rural Wilson County to Sherman and Alta Jones Coats. He was a 1945 graduate of Fredonia High School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1945-1947.

He married Mary Margaret Houdyshell on Jan. 10, 1950, in Fredonia. She survives.

He retired from Green’s Tire and Service after 15 years of employment.

He was a member of Church of Brethren in Fredonia.

Other survivors include a son, Randy Coats, Fredonia; a sister, Pauline Joy, Fredonia; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Paul; and four sisters, Arlene, Louise, June and Helen; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel, Fredonia. Burial will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery with military rites.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
