Support Local Homesteaders at the Farmers Market This Harvest Season

Support Local Homesteaders at the Farmers Market This Harvest Season

If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful produce and homemade baked goods, there’s no better place than the local farmers market. Held every Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Main Street Pavilion and Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons at Santa Fe Park, the market is overflowing with freshly harvested tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, pumpkins, and more during this peak harvest season.

Unlike the goods you find at large grocery chains like Walmart, the fruits, vegetables, and baked treats from our local homesteaders are free of unknown preservatives and harmful pesticides. These local vendors don’t need to use chemicals to keep their produce fresh because it’s picked and prepared just before being brought to the market.

Right now, the market is brimming with fresh produce, but that won’t last long. By mid-October, most of the harvest will be gone, and you’ll be back to buying greenhouse-grown items or preservative- laden baked goods.

So, take advantage of this opportunity to support local farmers and enjoy truly fresh food while you can. Stop by the farmers market this week and taste the difference!
