The operation that former UConn student-manager Mark Daigneault is running as coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder seems to exude an energy that many NBA players appreciate.
In an annual anonymous poll of the league’s players conducted by The Athletic, Daigneault received 21.8 percent of 147 votes answering the question, “Aside from your own current coach, who is the best coach in the league?”
The Athletic’s story went on to quote a player, anonymously, with an explanation for the obvious team and together approach that Daigneault has instilled in the Thunder.
Daingnealt’s Thunder are the Western Conference’s No. 1 seed in the NBA playoffs for the second year in a row.
