Facing one of the top arms in the state, the Chanute Blue Comets were no-hit in a home loss to the Frontenac Raiders on Friday, losing 15-0.
Frontenac Pitcher Avery Johnson, an NEO A&M commit, pitched the six-inning no-no, striking out five batters while walking just one.
Avery Dean ate the losing decision in the circle for Chanute, throwing 5.2 innings while allowing eight hits and striking out one.
Frontenac scored 12 of its 15 runs in a blow-up sixth frame to put the Blue Comets away.
Alana Sullivan tallied four hits and two RBIs for the Raiders while Hadley Goodwin had three RBIs on two hits and a walk.
The loss dipped Chanute’s record to 7-6.
