Splitting their final KJCCC baseball series with the Allen Red Devils, the Neosho County Panthers are locked into the No. 8 and final seed out of the East Division for the NJCAA Region VI Tournament.
Neosho County won the first two games at Allen on Thursday, 6-3, 12-10, before dropping the final two at home on Friday, 5-4, 5-3.
In Game 1, Baron Lynch earned the win on the hill, tossing six innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out one for the Panthers.
Larsen Koester had two hits and two RBIs, including a home run.
In Game 2, Henry Barney was credited with the victory on the mound for the Panthers, tossing three innings in relief with four strikeouts.
Dallas Keuser and Cutter Colvert each homered for Neosho County with Colvert, Kueser and Jaron Brown each notching three hits.
As the series moved to Chanute for Game 3, Allen scored a run in the top of the eighth to secure the win in extra frames.
Cooper Hayden was charged with the loss on the mound. Jaret Myers tossed seven innings in his start for the Panthers, allowing five hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts.
Colvert homered again while Carson Hilton had a three-hit game.
In the series finale, Maverick Williamson was charged with the loss on the hill while Hilton homered for the Panthers. Gilbert Rodriguez also notched a triple while Neosho County was limited to four hits.
The series moved Neosho County’s record to 24-28 overall and 10-22 in KJCCC play.
