RMS to host Spring Choir Concert featuring ‘Wicked,’ ‘Moana Jr.’

The Royster Middle School Choirs, under the direction of Lance Burnett and accompanist Amy Rhodes will perform their annual Spring Choir Concert on Tuesday, May 13th at 6 p.m. in the Chanute Memorial Hall Auditorium.

The concert will include performances from the sixth grade combined choir, the Bellas (an all female group), the Treblemakers (an all male group), and Vocal Plus (an auditioned choir of mixed seventh and eighth grade students.

The theme of this year’s concert will be songs from the musical “Wicked.” Each group will perform one selection written by Stephen Schwartz, composer of “Wicked” in addition to their other concert songs. Vocal Plus will also be performing songs from their recent musical, “Moana, Jr.”

“This concert will have a wide variety of songs,” stated Burnett. “The students have been working extremely hard and are very excited to perform. Be prepared for an amazing musical night that showcases the incredible talents of these young singers.”

The concert is free to attend and features open seating. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
