ALTOONA – The USD 387 Education Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the presentation of its annual scholarships which were awarded to seniors May 9, during the Altoona-Midway High School Honors and Awards Banquet. Olivia Goodwin was the recipient of a $2,000 Matt & Jared Ray Memorial Scholarship and the Don & Florence Marple Memorial Scholarship valued at $250. Emmalynn Pupanek was awarded the Jets of Honor, and the recently created Patricia Fail Memorial Scholarships each valued at $500 plus the High Prairie United Methodist Church Scholarship in the amount of $250. Autumn Raymond received the Altoona-Midway Class of 1993 Scholarship in the amount of $250 and also The USD 387 Education Foundation Scholarship and Doris Kennedy Memorial Scholarship each valued at $500. The newly established FirstOak Bank & The Oakes Family Scholarship valued at $1,000 was awarded to Jyl Davis who also received the $300 Chuck Splechter Memorial Scholarship. The Clarence Nelson Memorial and Altoona-Midway Class of 1970 Scholarships each worth $500 were awarded to William Stackhouse. Kieran Foster was the recipient of a $2,000 Matt & Jared Ray Memorial Scholarship.
Since the establishment of The Foundation in 2015, the board has worked diligently to grow each year. The USD 387 Foundation would like to thank the community and alumni for its continued support of the school and the foundation.
