Currently positioned as the No. 9 seed in the Class 4A East regional softball standings, the Chanute Blue Comets are riding a sixgame winning streak dating back to the start of the month.
On Monday, Chanute runruled Coffeyville, 12-2.
Brynna Peter tallied three hits in the contest for Chanute while Avery Dean earned the win in the circle, notching 17 outs with eight coming on strikeouts.
On Tuesday, Chanute narrowly defeated the Columbus Titans, 2-1.
Peter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth frame on a full count to tie the game at 1-1.
The next inning, Dean doubled to score Reece Norris, delivering the final score.
Norris had two hits on the day while Dean tossed all seven innings in the win, striking out five.
Chanute is now 13-9 overall.
