The May Jolly Jayhawkers 4-H Club meeting was held on Sunday, May 19, at the Neosho Valley Event Center in Erie. This meeting served as the Exchange Meeting with the Hillcrest 4-H Club.

The meeting began with the new Southwind 4-H Agent Kendal Henson introducing himself to both clubs and explaining what his new role would entail. The Hillcrest Club began the meeting by running their business meeting followed by the Jolly Jayhawkers.

President Reed Hurt called the meeting to order. A Hillcrest Member led the club in the Flag salute and 4-H Pledge for both clubs. Secretary Owen Coover read the monthly roll call of “What are your summer plans?” The roll was answered by 16 members, one cloverbuds, two leaders, and six parents or guests. The April meeting minutes were read and approved.

Club Treasure Evan Dillinger gave the treasurer’s report. Club Leader Rachele Cosby gave the Leader’s report reminding members to read the newsletter and of upcoming fair entry deadlines. Reporter Braxton Clasen gave the reporter’s report stating that the monthly report had been sent to the local papers as well as the Southwind Extension District Facebook Page.

The club has several events coming up in the near future that were up for discussion under the committee’s discussion. The Club has an upcoming fundraiser concession stand in June as well as a Cornbread stand for the Stark Bean feed on Friday May 23. The Club also is planning on walking in the Stark Parade for Stark Day.

Caysen Cosby introduced the program for the month. Brecken Clasen gave a project talk about his photography project. Cole Wolken led both clubs in recreation with a game of Hula Hoop Relay.

The next monthly meeting for the Jolly Jayhawkers will be held on June 8, at 4 p.m. at the Grant Community Building in Stark.
