Q: Where are you from, and how did you get to Chanute if you are not from here.
A: I was born and raised in Chanute. I attended Murray Hill Elementary, then Royster Middle School, and graduated from Chanute High School. After obtaining my teaching degree from Pittsburg State University, I moved back to Chanute to begin my teaching career as a 1st Grade Teacher at Chanute Elementary School in 2008.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: There are many things that I love about my job, but if I had to pick a favorite it is the people. I love the students, the staff, and the parents that I get to interact and work with daily.
Q: Are there any challenges you have faced in your role?
A: Of course there are challenges. However, that is why I am so appreciative of the team of people I get to work with every day. No matter the challenges, we work extremely well together as a team to overcome them and find solutions.
Q: How has your career evolved over time?
A: Education has definitely evolved over the last several years. Even since my career began in 2008. I am very passionate about public education, and will continue to be a positive advocate for public education.
