NEWTON — Kobe Patterson of Chanute made the cut for Day 2 at the KSHSAA 4A Boys Golf State Championships, placing 37th overall.
Wamego won the team state title, posting 621 strokes. Hayden was runner- up with 624 strokes, with Circle (655), Bishop Miege (663) and Andale (664) rounding out the top five.
Independence’s Ethan Small won the Class 4A crown individually, shooting 142 over two rounds to beat Wamego’s Regan Kueker by one stroke.
Patterson shot an 81 on Day 1 and an 88 in the second round.
Noah Luebbering also competed for Chanute at state golf, placing 63rd by shooting an 18 over par on Day 1.
