Area students visit Osage Mission

The second grade class at St. Patrick’s Catholic School recently visited the Osage Mission Museum, in the Lone Elm schoolhouse. Volunteers presented a lesson aimed at fostering patriotism in the students, according to Jolene Born of the Osage Mission Museum.

Students were read “F is for Flag,” which Born said introduced the history of the American flag. Students received a flag of their own, and heard from “Betsy Ross,” portrayed by Born. She presented a 1777 replica of the first U.S. flag. Students also colored flags, and the artwork was displayed at the museum.
