The Kansas Department of Transportation announced that a resurfacing project will begin the week of June 16 on U.S. 169 in Miami County.
The project will apply ultrathin bonded asphalt surfacing from 0.77 mile south of the K- 7/U.S. 169 south junction north to 1.42 miles south of the Miami/Johnson county line.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.
During construction, traffic will be managed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared for stops and potential delays of up to 15 minutes.
Bettis Asphalt and Construction, based in Topeka, is the prime contractor for the 21.1mile, $3.9 million project.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
