Jason D. Schoenhofer, 44, of Lawrence, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1980 at Parsons, a son of Glen Ralph and Tina Louise (McMillan) Schoenhofer. He was raised at St. Paul and attended school there, graduating from the St. Paul High School in 1999. He then attended various colleges including the University of Kansas, where he received an Associate’s of Degree. He lived in Pittsburg, and Mesa, Arizona before moving to Lawrence in 2022. He was employed there as a custodian at USD 497.
He was an artist and enjoyed drawing. He also collected knives, enjoyed listening to music and playing video games and performed as an actor in theater productions in Lawrence.
Survivors include: his father, Glen R. Schoenhofer, St. Paul; one brother and sister in-law, Chris and Gloria Schoenhofer, St. Paul; his niece and nephew, Natalie and Marshall Schoenhofer, St. Paul; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina L. Schoenhofer, on March 8, 2023; his paternal grandparents,Gerald “Jerry” and Joan Schoenhofer; and his maternal grandparents, John and Claudina “Dean” McMillan.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27, at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastors Chris and Kelly Diller officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at the funeral home. The family would like to invite those attending the service to have a pot-luck lunch with them at the hall at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at Erie following the ceremony.
