
OELWEIN, Iowa — Benjamin E. “Benny” Rowe, 70, of Oelwein, Iowa, formerly of Chanute, Kansas, died on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Mercy Hospital in Oelwein.
Benny was born on Aug. 10, 1954 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Earl L. and Florence L. (Malone) Rowe.
He grew up in Chanute, and in 1972 graduated from Chanute High School. He went on to attend the Neosho County Community College in Chanute.
Benny spent the majority of his life working all over the United States. He worked as an I.T. specialist, and a transcriptionist for many large law firms all over the country.
He was known by all as a loving, caring, quiet, soul. Benny loved to be healthy and active. He enjoyed cooking, went on several walks every day, and lived to run.
He is survived by his siblings; Patricia McQuarters, Nederland, Texas, Kenneth Rowe, Oelwein, Felicia Ann Moody, Dayton, Texas, Larry (Brenda) Rowe, Chanute, and Shelia Kay (Gregory) Nixon, Collinsville, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.
Benny is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence Rowe, a brother, Richard L. Malone, a sister-in-law, Sherry Rowe, and two brothers- in-law, Jack McQuarters, and Bobby Moody.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
