
ERIE — Kazmier Butch Ptasznik, 76, of Erie, died at 8:35 A.M., Friday, July 4, 2025 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul. He was born March 24, 1949 in Ravensburg, Germany, a son of Walter and Frances (Pazek) Ptasznik.
His family immigrated to the United States in 1949 and settled in St. Paul, where he attended school, graduating from the Erie High School in 1967. He moved to Wichita in 1974 and lived there several decades and worked as an electrician at Tracy Electric. He retired in 2016.
He was Catholic. He loved to read, watch sports and being the life of the party. He was known for his heart, charisma and ornery-ness.
Survivors include: his four daughters:Hannah Ptasznik, Kansas City; Molly Ptasznik, Spartanburg, South Carolina; Kim Ptasznik, Galesburg; Christina Bernal, Galesburg. Five grandchildren: Kaden Ptasznik, Stark; Anthony Ptasznik, Galesburg; Brett Bernal, Galesburg; Samuel Bernal, Galesburg; Beckett Williams, Galesburg. One brother – Joseph Ptasznik, Claremore, Oklahoma, and Three sisters: Irene Chambers, Clearwater; Helen Ptasznik, Wichita; and RoseMary Hines, Erie.
He was preceded in death by one brother – Theodore Ptasznik in 1969.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 17, at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Ball officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
