Chanute Business and Professional Women met Wednesday, July 9, for their regular meeting with Jen Brown as hostess. We had special guests from the State Board who were members of the Baldwin BPW Club. They were State President Debbie Grosdider, State Vice President Erin Gililand, who is also Debbie’s daughter, and Finance Chair Donna Gratts.
They shared information from the recent BPW Convention held in Salina. Grosdider presented her goals for 20252026. Being from Baldwin, the city of Maple trees, her theme is “Be-Leaf in Yourself” by encouraging leaders and members. She suggests increasing visibility and encouraging involvement in leadership opportunities and community service. As a whole, throughout the state BPW would like to increase guests and membership at each local club.
BPW is for all women or men who believe in the betterment of women, whether in the workplace, school, unemployment or retirement. The State Fall Conference will be Oct. 4-5, 2025 in Salina.
Sharon Carpenter reported that Credo Senior Living Home appreciated the donated items for BINGO games. The next meeting will be held Aug. 20, at 5:15 p.m., with Kathy Williams as hostess.
