Evelyn Jewell Morales

Evelyn Jewell (Seefeldt) Morales, born on Aug. 30, 1950, in Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was born to Marvin and Leota (Weseloh) Seefeldt in Chanute.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Vincent Morales on August 24, 1968, in Chanute.

She spent most of her years as a homemaker, dedicating herself to caring for her husband, Vincent, and their children: Sara, Rachel, Lisa, Faron, and Olivia. Her nurturing spirit and loving presence created a warm and welcoming home where her family thrived. She took great pride in her role as a mother, instilling values of kindness and hard work in her children.

Evelyn’s educational journey began at Chanute High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. She went on to earn her associate’s degree in business at Neosho County Community College, showcasing her determination and ambition.

Together with her husband, Vincent, Evelyn cherished many moments spent driving around, bird watching, and keeping a detailed journal of the various birds they encountered. This shared passion not only deepened their bond but also allowed them to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the world around them.

Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, Vincent, her beloved children, and her three grandchildren, who will carry her legacy of love and compassion forward. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Martha, who will be lovingly remembered.

Evelyn Jewell Morales will forever be missed and remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the memories of her love, laughter, and unwavering support.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 5-7 p.m. at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 N. Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas.
