
James “Jim” Wesley Beaty, 81, of Chanute, passed away peacefully at North Kansas City Hospice House on July 28, 2025.
Jim was born April 6, 1944, in Leavenworth, to Lester and Marguerite Beaty. He was the youngest of six children. He served honorably in the United States Navy from August 1962 through September 1966.
Jim married his wife, Connie, on July 16, 1976, and celebrated 49 years together prior to his passing.
Jim is survived by his wife, Connie Beaty and children Kimberlee Russell-Crone and David (Randy) Cole, his brothers Eugene Beaty and Wayne Beaty, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Marguerite Beaty, and sisters Jodell Ward, Sharon Timme, and Rita Busby.
Services will be Saturday, Aug. 9, with visitation at 10 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at South Haven Baptist Church, 16800 Bel-Ray Blvd, Belton, MO 64012. Graveside Honors will be at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131.
