GALS FCE

July 21 GALS FCE hosted the Humboldt Lions Club to a ‘Summer Family Fun Time’ in the Fellowship Hall, Humboldt Methodist Church, beginning at 6:30. In keeping with the “Summer Fun Time’ theme, sloppy joes were provided and served alongside a variety of salads, veggies and desserts brought by GALS members.

There were a total of 34 Lions, GALS and guests in attendance, including the new Methodist pastor, Willy Banza and his family.

Lion Chris Bauer called on each Lion to introduce themselves and their guests; followed by a brief summary of annual Lions Club projects and fundraisers. GALS president, Carol Bauer, then introduced GALS members, went over the Allen County Fair work schedule to begin Wednesday, during an abbreviated business meeting. She reminded members of the August meeting date, lesson and the business of electing officers. July birthdays were announced and Amanda Ames spoke briefly of the Sunscreen Safety lesson.

She’Ree Scarrow led the group in a round of identifying songs she had recorded and the official song title. Although some lyrics were more easily identifiable, the official title was more of a challenge.

The August meeting will be Aug. 18 at the church with Janie Works presenting the lesson on ‘Autism’.
