August 8: Two vehicle non-injury accident report; state Highway 39, .2 miles east from Greenwood, Chanute. Cited the driver, Kalan Wright, 22, Stark, for driving while suspended.

August 9: Homicide report; 307 S. Washington, Stark. The Neosho County Sheriff’s Office along with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating a homicide that occurred on Aug. 9 in Stark, Kansas.
Scott Stevens, 65, was found deceased at a residence on S. Washington Street. The suspect, Luke Shepard, 45, of Uniontown, was arrested later that evening by the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office and booked on first-degree murder charges. The investigation is ongoing.
