FCE unit held their August meeting on the 18th, with 13 members present, in the Fellowship Hall of Humboldt Methodist Church.

Members voted to cover expenses for the Lions Club picnic held in July, also to donate $50 to the Allen County Fair Booster Club, to projects on the State and National level of FCE and $100 to the Biblesta Committee.

Vendor registrations are beginning to come in for the December Holiday Market, the Halloween Parade Committee, She’Ree Scarrow, Michelle Umholtz and Mindy McCall, will be making plans for the October event and officers were elected for 2026. Accepting the offices are Carol Bauer, president, DeAnn Houser, vice president, She’Ree Scarrow, secretary, Michelle Umholtz, treasurer. Current Council Representatives, Bauer, Houser, Linda Leonard and Mary Anne Lower will retain their position.

Lesson review and highlights of Sunscreen Safety were given by Amanda Ames. Jane Works presented the August lesson on Autism. With one out of 42, five to 12 year-old children in the nation being diagnosed with Autism, members received information on screening and diagnosis, treatment and intervention. She also shared first hand insights received from a personal interview of the mother of an autistic child.

Houser reported $49.46 collected for the Milk Voucher Project and Leonard reported a total of 43 Volunteer Hours. September’s meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall on the 15th, when the lesson on ‘Air Fryers’ will be presented by Bauer. The meeting will commence at 7 p.m. and dues for 2026 will be collected.
