Order of the Eastern Star: The Order of the Eastern Star will hold their School of Instruction for District 2 on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Masonic Temple, located at 102 N. Highland, Chanute, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The school will be conducted by Worthy Grand Matron Teresa M. Ryan. All Eastern Star members are encouraged to attend. Street Dress and a current dues card is required.

CHS Class of 1973: The Chanute High School Class of 1973 is organized by reunion committee and co-chairs, Betti Breiner Harris and Ed Aday. The reunion and a 70th birthday celebration will be held on Sept. 6 at the Elks Lodge, located on the corner of 1st and Central streets in Chanute. The Class Celebration begins at 5 p.m. and all CHS alumni are invited to witness live music at 8:00 p.m., followed by a jam session. No cost; sponsored by the CHS Class of 1973.

Chanute FCA: The Chanute chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be hosting Fields of Faith on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Chanute High School Football Stadium at 1501 W. 36th St. Chanute, KS, 66720. The event will kick off with kids games at 5 p.m., a meal served at 6 p.m., followed by a worship and message from 6:30-8 p.m. Music will be performed by Consumed by Fire, and speakers include DJ Dangerfield, Kaelin Bones,and Parker Todd. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

East Central Kansas Model T Ford Club: The East Central Kansas Model T Ford Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Burlington Public Library. The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month. The Library is located on Highway 75 in Burlington. The main entree will be pizza and drinks will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a side dish to be shared with the meal. During the meeting the club members are encouraged to share information about working and restoring their cars. In addition members will continue to make plans for day trips, as well as hear a report from members that attended or are planning to attend some of the following events; Sept. 3-6 HillBilly Tour in Rolla, Missouri; Sept. 27-Oct. 1, the First Model T Bridge Tour in Parke County, Indiana; Oct. 5, The Lawrence Regional AACA Car Show; Oct. 7-10, the AACA the Eastern Division Swap Meet and car show in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
