Humboldt shut out by Caney Valley

CANEY — Debuting an overhauled roster, the Humboldt Cubs were humbled by the Caney Valley Bullpups, 38-0, in Week 1 on Friday night.

Playing without Mason Sterling, the Cubs were limited to 79 yards of total offense.

Ty Shaughnessy led Humboldt with 66 yards on the ground and completed 2-of-12 passes for 10 yards.

Humboldt hits the road again to face Cherryvale in Week 2. Cherryvale fell to Neodesha in Week 1.
