FREDONIA — The Wilson County Old Iron Club is proud to announce its annual Old Iron Days, taking place September 24–27, 2025 at the Rollin ‘Red’ Vandever Memorial Park, located at 10392 Jade Road, Fredonia, Kansas.
This year’s theme, “Old Iron Days 2025 – Steaming Your Way,” captures the spirit of one of Kansas’ most unique and interactive heritage events. With over 30 live demonstrations, this four-day show brings the past to life with working displays of antique farm equipment, domestic skills, and rural traditions.
“This isn’t just a show—it’s an experience,” says Jeff Walker, club president. “Everything you see is working just like it did generations ago. If we display it, it works.”
Event highlights include: Steam engine operations, wheat threshing, corn processing, rock crushing, wood sawing, Old-fashioned laundry, wood stove cooking, cider pressing, apple butter making, broom making, corn husk doll making, blacksmithing and the Parade of Power, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m.
This is truly a working show, where knowledgeable demonstrators not only operate the equipment, but also share the fascinating history and stories behind each piece and process.
Special Programs for Schools: School groups are especially encouraged to attend Wednesday through Friday, with free admission for students. In past years, nearly 2,000 children from across the region have experienced the sights, sounds, and tastes of rural life through handson learning and live demonstrations. Registrations can be made by emailing us at oldironclub@ gmail.com.
Admission & Donations: The Wilson County Old Iron Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and depends on donations to make this annual event possible. A $5 donation grants admission for all four days, including a commemorative button. Children 12 and under attend free.
