SHAWNEE — Sandra Renea Turner, 69, of Shawnee, was born Sept. 14th, 1955, in Chanute, to Robert and Maxine Boyd of Humboldt.
She passed away on Sept. 10th, 2025, just days before her 70th birthday, and was lovingly surrounded by her family in her final moments.
A graduate of Humboldt High School, she spent most of her career at Bank of Commerce and also worked at Headstart, Elisa’s Mexican Restaurant, and Dollar General.
She was united in marriage to Harold Turner Jr. on May 25th, 1973.
Sandy is survived by her devoted daughters, Sonia Wheeler (Dejuan) and Tonia Turner-Hayes (Derek) of Shawnee; her loving stepdaughter, Karlas Moore (Lou) of Coffeyville; her brothers, Dale Boyd of Chanute and Anthony Boyd of Hutchinson; her sisters-in-law Gracella Jackson (Lonnie) of Kansas City, Kansas, and Veronica McNeal of Shawnee; her longtime companion Paul, of Shawnee; and several other relatives.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents; her beloved husband, Harold Turner Jr.; her wonderful son, Anthony Turner; her siblings, Robert Boyd II and Candace Boyd; her sister- in-law, Princess Pulley; her cherished grand dogs; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4th, at 10 a.m.. at Covenant Faith Christian Church in Iola, with Pastor Philip Honeycutt presiding. Cards can be sent to Serenity Funeral Home, c/o Family of Sandra Turner, 1101 Bannister Road, Kansas City, MO, 64131.
