Naomi Lee Chestnut, 92, passed away in Wichita, on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.
She graduated from high school in 1949 and obtained degrees in psychology, English, nursing, and business administration. She worked as a para-professional counselor, nursing home administrator, hospital administrator, and registered nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Hamel and Milton Webster; husband Kenneth Chestnut; daughter Jackie Burley; son Richard Dietrich; sister Dixie Lambert; grandson Derrick Burley; grandson Jeremy Braun; son-in-law Don Feld; and daughter-in-law Sand Dietrich.
She is survived by her son, Larry Dietrich, of Chanute; daughter, Cindy Braun, of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Linda Feld, of Wichita; and brother, Virgil Webster, of Sandersville, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute, on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Rosary at 1 p.m. and a funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. Naomi will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
