Chanute Business and Professional Women met on Wednesday, Sept. 9, for a regular meeting with Linda Powers as hostess. A program was not given.
The focus of the meeting was planning for National Business Women’s Week, Oct.19-25. President Sharon Carpenter spoke with the City of Chanute office and members will begin with the city commission meeting on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 with the proclamation being presented by Mayor Jacob LaRue. Members are encouraged to attend.
Kathy Williams spoke with Joel Norris owner/pharmacist at Cardinal Drug on Main Street about placing a poster in the window to celebrate NBWW and he approved.
Carpenter said she spoke to Hannah Emberton, editor of the Chanute Tribune and Advertising Director Alissa Meier, about the annual NBWW page and that will happen again this year.
Tayah Williams reported she had spoke to Estelle Marie, owner of Eleveneleven Fresherie if she could give a program during that week. Details will be announced.
Jen Brown made arrangements with NCCC Foundation to share a table at Artist Alley, Sept. 27 to fundraise for the club’s scholarship fund. A gift basket filled with goodies and tickets will be sold. The winner will be drawn during the special event night. Tickets will be available.
A meal was provided by Linda Powers and enjoyed by all. Jen Brown won the door prize supplied by Linda. Any business will be held after our special event program.
