MUSEUM NEWS

The museum’s admission is free this month from the generous donation from Dr. Grant and Samantha Gastineau! Next month is free from the generous donation from Cleaver Farm and Home. We are absolutely delighted to have the community’s support, and we ask everyone to please take advantage of our free admission during this spooky season!

Our annual museum gala, “Take off to Adventure” on October 3rd at 6:30pm was an incredible event! Our foundation board absolutely killed it this year! The Chanute Martin Johnson Airport was such a fun venue for our gala, celebrating the Johnson’s aerial adventures. The weather that day was perfect for the event. The communities support at the gala was truly magical! The NCCC Cheer team were the ultimate helpers that day with set-up, cleanup, and everything in between! I also wanted to shout out Booze Brothers for manning the bar throughout the night as well. The gala is such an awesome way to honor the Johnson’s continued legacy in Chanute!

Our little museum is partnering with a travel agency in Kansas City! Collette is offering a “Plains of Africa” trip next October! Annnnd we will be offering a “Tropical Costa Rica Trip” in 2027! This will help with the Museum’s fundraising and outreach efforts! We’re so excited to partner with such a neat local company. You can reach out to the museum for more information, attend our information meeting on November 13th in person or online or go to their website https://groups. goco l l e t te. com/ en- US/ link/1375784.! You can RSVP for the information session by reaching out to the museum. Come by and grab a flyer for the trips!
