NCCC Board ofTrustees —The Neosho County Community College Board ofTrustees will be holding a Board Retreat onWednesday, Oct. 29, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Room 209 of the Student Union.

Humboldt FCCLA — Humboldt FCCLA will be collecting food for the Humboldt Food Pantry during its Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat event on Thursday, Oct. 30. Between 5- 7:30 p.m. FCCLA members, wearing their Humboldt FCCLA shirt, will walk around town ‘’trick or treating’’ for nonperishable items. They are asking that items be left on the porch if one will not be home or do not want someone ringing the doorbell. Living Word Assembly — Living Word Assembly will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Blue Comets Chess Team — The Community Chess Challenge is coming up Nov. 22, and it is open to all ages. Several CHS Chess Alum are expected to be playing in our event. Last year there were over 100 attendees and the team would like to double that this year.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. in the Chanute High School Commons Area. The first round begins at 10 a.m. This event is for fun and there is no entry fee, free-will donations will be accepted. This tournament is for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Southeast Kansas Lodge of Perfection— All members of the Valley of Southeast Kansas Lodge of Perfection and their guests are asked to attend the Stated Dinner and Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Armstrong Masonic Lodge, 3105 N. Joplin St., Pittsburg, Kansas.

This dinner will honor the 25 and 50 Year Members and the Longest and Oldest Members for their years of commitment and dedication to the Scottish Rite. Please plan to attend and show appreciation for these members’ service to this great fraternity. Social time begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:00 p.m.
