Living Word Assembly — Living Word Assembly will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Chanute Police Department — The Chanute Police Department is partnering with the Kansas Highway Patrol Troop H this year for a Trunk or Treat event. This will take place Friday, Oct. 31, in the Kansas Highway Patrol parking lot located on 14th Street, West of the Railroad Tracks. CPD will start passing out candy around 5 P.M. Blue Comets Chess Team — The Community Chess Challenge is coming up Nov. 22, and it is open to all ages. Several CHS Chess Alum are expected to be playing in our event. Last year there were over 100 attendees and the team would like to double that this year. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. in the Chanute High School Commons Area. The first round begins at 10 a.m. This event is for fun and there is no entry fee, free-will donations will be accepted. This tournament is for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase.
