Humboldt Schools Theater to put on one night only show: School House Rock Live
HUMBOLDT — For one night only, the Humboldt Schools theatre department will present the musical “Schoolhouse Rock Jr.” on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The production marks the first show for new theatre director Logan Jones, who chose the musical for its nostalgia and broad audience appeal.
“It is a really good show for all ages,” he said. “It’s a really fun show.”
That wide appeal is also reflected in the cast, which ranges from third graders to high school seniors. Jones said the variety of ages brought some challenges, especially when scheduling rehearsals. The team used two separate rehearsal schedules to accommodate younger cast members and student-athletes. The production also came together on a short timeline, with only a month to prepare.
“For a month of rehearsal, they are doing phenomenal,” Jones said. “I think everyone who comes out will have a good time. There’s a lot of joy in this show.”
