
ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Dale L. Romine, 89, of St. Charles, Missouri, and a former Neosho County resident, passed away at 8:24 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, at his home in St. Charles.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1935, at Odense, Kansas to Homer and Elsie Mae (Pugh) Romine. Dale grew up in the Kimball area and attended schools there, graduating from the Grant Community Township High School in 1953.
Dale went to work for Ozark Airlines as a bookkeeper in Chanute, then transferred to Chicago, Owensboro, Kentucky, St. Joseph, Missouri, Galesburg, Illinois, and then to the company headquarters in St. Charles, where he worked as a manager of internal auditing in the accounting department. He retired in 1986. In his retirement years, Dale worked as a self-employed bookkeeper and offered tax preparation services. He also had a glassware and fine China business.
Dale attended the St. Charles Presbyterian Church, and he enjoyed doing genealogy research.
He and Wanda Thomson were married at the Christian Church in Pittsfield, Illinois, on June 19, 1971. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by his daughters, Maria Romine-Kantor, and her husband, James of St. Peters, Mo., and Susan Romine-Tan, and her husband, Marcus of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Audrey Tan and Eliana Tan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Romine, Earl Romine, Don Romine, and Junior Kenneth Romine.; and two sisters, Louise Raney Cowan and Phyllis Harding.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, in the Bethel Cemetery near Erie. Burial will follow the services. Friends may come to the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie to sign the register and view on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 113 S.
