
FREDONIA — Karen Kingsbury Hull, 86, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, while under hospice care at her home in Chanute.
She was born June 25, 1939, in Fredonia, the daughter of Oliver and Yola Kingsbury.
Hull graduated from Fredonia High School with the class of 1957. She married the love of her life, Dwayne Hull, on May 3, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Fredonia. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2006.
She devoted her life to raising her four children — Sherry, Steven, David and Kimberly — and later returned to college at age 41 to study American history. She served as a substitute teacher for two years while living in Casper, Wyoming.
In retirement, Hull and her husband returned to their hometown and owned and operated Penny Run Christmas Tree Farm near Roper from 1985 to 2006.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Segraves and Steven Hull, both of Chanute; David and his wife, Donna Hull, of Fredonia; and Kimberly Hull Barnes of Star, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the First Christian Church of Fredonia. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery near Roper.
Memorials have been established with the First Christian Church of Fredonia and may be mailed or left with Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 510 N. Seventh St., Fredonia, KS 66736, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
