
NEODESHA — Kylie Michelle Brooks, 21, of Neodesha, and her son, Kohen D. Brooks, 2, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, in an auto accident.
Kylie was born April 2, 2004, in Chanute, the daughter of Michael A. and Deena L. (King) Brooks. Kohen was born Nov. 7, 2023, in Parsons, the son of Kylie and Adam Brooks.
Kylie was a 2022 graduate of Fredonia High School, where she was active in multiple sports and cheerleading. She also loved riding motorcycles. She worked as a phlebotomist at Wilson County Memorial Hospital and was known for her ability to brighten patients’ days.
Independent and strongwilled, Kylie embraced life fully. She cherished her time with Kohen and had begun teaching both herself and her son about faith and love through their church.
Kylie and Kohen are survived by their family members, Parents: Deena L. Brooks, Neodesha, Michael A. Brooks, Iola. Siblings: Justin Brooks, Chanute, Damon Brooks, Chanute, Ashton Brooks, Neodesha, Ayden Brooks, Neodesha, Addy “RJ” Brooks, Neodesha. Grandparents: Maternal grandmother: Lucy Trester, Chanute, Paternal grandparents: Don and Imogine Brooks, Yates Center. They are also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and many friends Kylie considered family. Kylie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Marvin King; an infant child, “Cookie”; Adam Brooks; and her son Kohen. Cremation has been requested for both. A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Christ Church of Neodesha. Memorials have been suggested to the Deena Brooks and Family Memorial to assist with expenses.
