GARDEN CITY — Orlinda Kay (Gorder) Kern, 71, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2025, in Garden City. She was born on Sept. 3, 1954, in Williston, North Dakota, the daughter of Orlin and Vada Gorder.
Orlinda was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. She loved her family with her whole heart and played a special role in raising her grandchildren. When she wasn’t showering her great-grandchild with kisses and chocolate, she found joy in watching hummingbirds — a reflection of her gentle and caring spirit.
She is survived by her brother, Ed Gorder, and sister-in-law, Cat Gorder; her grandchildren, Benjamin Anderson, and Shandi Anderson; her great-grandchild, Isaac Anderson; and her daughter-in-law, Vanessa Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her soulmate, Steve Kern; her son, William Anderson; her brother, Leroy Gorder; and her parents, Orlin and Veda Gorder. Orlinda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her love, warmth, and gentle spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
