GALS FCE

GALS FCE met November 17 in the Fellowship Hall of Humboldt Methodist Church with 16 members present and answering roll call with their Thanksgiving plans. Terry Broyles was hostess for the evening. During the regular business meeting, reports were heard from Mary Ann Lower on the District’s Fall Learning Day, from SheRee Scarrow on the annual Halloween Parade, from Nancy Weilert on Story Hour sessions and from Vicki Wood on the Adopt-a-Kid donation. President and committee chair, Carol Bauer reported 32 vendors are registered to display their crafts and products on Saturday, December 6, while members previewed the FCCLA concessions menu planned for the event.

Judy Arbeiter presented the lesson, “Good ‘Wifely’ Manners”, with numerous humorous comparisons of the 1930s bride and brides of today. Arbeiter expressed amazement with several of the Good ‘Wifely’ Manners from years long passed.

Members were made aware that Linda Leonard has been selected at the District’s Heart of FCE winner. Wood reported $47.15 collected for the Milk Voucher Project and Amanda Ames recorded member’s 49.36 hours of volunteering. The December 15 meeting will be an ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’ social with finger food and White Elephant gift exchange, beginning at 6:30 pm.
