The Chanute Middle School Choir, under the direction of Lance Burnett and accompanist Amy Rhodes, will perform their annual Winter Choir Concert on Monday, December 1st at 7:00 p.m. in the Chanute Memorial Hall Auditorium. The concert will include performances from the 6th-grade combined choir, the Bellas (an all-female group), the Treblemakers (an all-male group), and Vocal Plus (an auditioned choir of mixed 7th and 8th-grade students). Concert selections will range from well-known Christmas songs such as “Deck the Hall” and “Do You Know What I Hear” to more contemporary songs such as “Jingle Bell Rock” to African holiday songs like “African Noel” and “Sizalewe Indodana”. The concert will conclude with a combined choir performance of Silent Night, where the audience is invited to sing along, which has become a Winter Concert tradition.
“This concert will have a wide variety of songs,” states Mr Burnett. “The students have been working extremely hard and are very excited to perform. Be prepared for an amazing musical night that showcases the incredible talents of these young singers!” The concert is free and open to the public.
