FORT SCOTT — Staying hot going into the holidays, the Chanute Blue Comets boys bested the Fort Scott Tigers, 55-50, on Friday night in SEK League play.
Offenses on both sides were slow to find a rhythm with the Blue Comets leading the Tigers, 7-3, through the first quarter.
With Chanute leading, 35-27, going into the final stanza, both squads poured in over 20 points as the Blue Comets held off a rally from the Tigers.
Only five players found the box score for the Blue Comets, with Warrick Olson’s 14 points leading the way.
The win was Chanute’s fifth straight as it goes into winter break with a 5-1 overall record and 1-0 mark in league play.
