MUSEUM NEWS

The museum’s admission is free this month from the generous donation from Cardinal Drug Store. We are absolutely delighted to have the community’s support, and we ask everyone to please take advantage of our free admission this winter!

We have an exciting new exhibit within the museum! Our wonderful curator Jacque partnered with KS Humanities to become a sister exhibit with the Smithsonian’s Americans traveling exhibit. We currently have our pop ups in the Johnson’s gallery upstairs to learn more about what inspired the Johnsons in the first place. In our Selsor gallery upstairs there are some wonderful photographs for you to observe and learn more about! The gallery is currently a work in progress, so be patient with us!

From December 26th-January 4th we will be hosting a traveling trunk from the wonderful History Museum on the Square in Springfield! This trunk will be a hands-on learning experience dedicated to Early Native Americans. Please come in and see this exceptional exhibit while we have it! We will be partnering with KS humanities again next May to celebrate America 250! Be on the lookout in the future for this!

We hosted our annual internal tea tasting this Sunday the 14th! This is an exciting partnership with our local 4-H! It featured different Italian tea recipes! We had quite the turn out from the town for this fun event! Everything was delicious, the kiddos did a fabulous job with this event.

The Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum and Osa’s Ark Museum Store are open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00AM-5:00PM. Be on the lookout for our upcoming events! The museum will be closed for Christmas starting the 23rd at 1pm-25th we will be back open to the public on the 26th. We will also close at 1pm on the 31st-1st and reopen on the 2nd!
