
Larry Allen Truster, 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2025, at Heritage Health Care.
He was born June 23, 1942, in Chanute, to Burt and Mildred (Hill) Truster. He was the fifth of seven children.
Larry attended St. Patrick’s School before graduating from Chanute High School in 1960. He married Phyllis Brown in 1964; the marriage later ended in divorce.
Larry served with the Chanute Police Department for several years before joining the Clifton Police Department, where he served as chief of police in Clifton. After retiring from law enforcement, he moved to Humboldt, where he lived for the past 25 years.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Lisa Truster Clay, and grandson, Dylan Clay; twin sisters, Charlene Arthur and Marlene (Ron) Wiltse; sisters-in-law Carolyn Sue McMillian, Nancy Truster and Judy Truster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry was known for his love of his dog, Taco, who accompanied him on many daily adventures, including drives to check on the river.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, followed immediately by Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
