The Chanute Business and Professional Women met on Dec. 10, 2025, for a regular meeting with Sharon Carpenter as Hostess. The focus of the meeting was enjoying a Christmas party with Domino’s pizza, garlic bites, and cinnamon bites provided by Sharon. We played a few rounds of Right-Left-Center, a dice game with winners receiving prizes provided by Carpenter. A brief business meeting was held. A donation will be given to the Chanute Historical Society in memory of Nancy Kernick, who belonged to both organizations.
Members were encouraged to visit the Chanute Art Gallery to see the BPW tree, The Nativity The Reason for the Season. Kathy Williams and her great-granddaughter, Graycelin Phillips, decorated the tree. Secretary Tayah Williams read the minutes from the Nov. 12 meeting and Linda Powers gave the treasurer’s report. Powers also presented a Financial Summary for 2024-2025 for the members’ approval. Tayah won the door prize.
The next meeting will be on Jan. 14, 2026, with Kathy Williams as Hostess. BPW welcomes anyone who is interested in the organization to call Sharon Carpenter at 620-431-8532. BPW members wish everyone a safe and “Happy Holidays.”
