Search warrant leads to arrest of brothers in Allen County

On Dec. 30, 2025, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 1120 Arizona Road, approximately four miles southwest of Humboldt, Kansas. During the execution of the search warrant, alleged drug items were discovered that led to a second search warrant being obtained. Two people were arrested as a result of the warrants.

Daniel K. Berthot, 29, was booked into the Allen County Jail on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Andrew S. Berthot, 30, was booked into the Allen County Jail on suspicion of Aggravated Unlawful Transmission of Visual Depiction of a Child, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Aggravated Internet Trading in Child Pornography, Promoting Obscenity, and Breach of Privacy.

Multiple counts of each charge against the brothers are expected to be forwarded to the Allen County Attorney’s Office for charging consideration.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

When this investigation concludes, case findings will be presented to the Allen County Attorney for determination of charges. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time. Any further information will be from the Allen County Attorney’s Office.

All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
