Audrey Anne Standfast

Audrey Anne Standfast, 89, passed away peacefully Dec. 21, 2025.

She was born March 1, 1936, in Arkansaw, Wisconsin, to Frank and Lucy (Biogenzahn) Pittman. Audrey graduated from Arkansaw High School and on Oct. 2, 1958, she married Paul A. Standfast in Arkansaw. The couple shared a devoted marriage until Paul’s death.

Audrey was a gifted seamstress and retired from the National Garment Factory, where she was known for her skill, precision and willingness to help others. She performed countless clothing alterations for residents throughout the Chanute area, earning the appreciation of many.

A longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1966, Audrey was deeply involved in parish life. She was active in the Altar Society, the Bargain Store and the Daughters of Isabella, and enjoyed bowling leagues and participating in the Do-Si-Do Square Dancing Club. Her faith and commitment to service were central to her life.

Audrey enjoyed traveling, walking, baking and sewing. She was known for her warm smile, kind heart and generous spirit, forming friendships that lasted decades.

She is survived by her four children, Donald (Rhonda) Standfast, Patty Ungles, Diane (Kevin) Myers and Vicki (Doug) Murphy; six grandchildren, Matthew Murphy, Erin Murphy, Brent (Christina) Myers, Mandi Myers, Bethany Ungles and Rachel Ungles; three great-grandchildren, Lily and Luke Myers; and her brother, Eugene Pittman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Standfast; her parents; and her siblings, Francis, Ray, Cyril, Lucille and her twin brother, Art Pittman.

Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Countryside Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The rosary was recited Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in St. Paul, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic School.

Audrey will be remembered for her devotion to family, faith and community, and for the kindness she shared with everyone she met.
