Parsons man killed in Montgomery County accident

A Parsons man was killed in a fatal accident in the early hours of Saturday morning, Jan. 17.

The accident occurred on Highway 169, near County Road 2800 in Montgomery County, north of the Coffeyville Airport Industrial Park.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs, a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, was traveling westbound on County Road 2800, and failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the intersection of Highway 169, and was struck by a semi just after 3:30 a.m.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the median after the accident. According to reports, the driver of the Dodge was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and the semi was hauling a trailer, transporting another vehicle.

The driver of the Dodge was later identified as Dakota Hinman, 34, of Parsons who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi was Said Bouchelarm, 43, of Lenexa. He complained of pain after the accident, but was not transported for treatment.
