Chanute girls’ season ends at Ottawa

Taking on sixth-seeded Ottawa on the road for the second time this year, the Chanute Blue Comets girls’ season ended with a 55-41 loss in the first round of the KSHSAA 4A East Sub-State Tournament.

Chanute led Ottawa, 22-18, at halftime. The Blue Comets led, 29-22, midway through the third quarter before Ottawa ended the game on a 33-12 run.

Ottawa connected on 42% of its shots while Chanute was limited to 25%.

Sarah Uhner led Chanute with 14 points while Grace Luebbering added 13 points.

Dylan Nichols and Natalie Price both led Ottawa with 17 points apiece.

With the loss, Chanute’s season ended with a 13-10 overall record.
