
Michelle Ann Splane, 73, passed away at NMRMC in Chanute on Friday, February 27, 2026. Michelle was born April 6, 1952 at Argentia Naval Base in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. She was a Navy brat and proud of her dual citizenship. She was the daughter of Lloyd B. and Doris M. Lindquist McIntosh.
She graduated from Chanute High School in Chanute in 1970. She married Sammy J. Splane, the love of her life, on October 24, 1970 and they made their home in Chanute. They were married for 55+ years.
She loved to bowl, play cards and board games and watch her grandchildren play sports. She worked the last 20+ years at Community National Bank in Chanute.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and stepfather, Donald Robertson. She is survived by her husband, Sam of the home, her brother, Shane McIntosh of Chanute, her daughters, Melissa Frederick (Scott), Stephanie Veenis (Akela) of Chanute, and son, Jefferey Splane of Humboldt. Grandchildren, Ashlynn and Shalynn Frederick, Cheyenne Page (Brandon Swanson), Sienna Tatum and Austin Robinson all of Chanute. Daylon and Laken Splane of Humboldt and Cole Page of Joplin, MO. Great grandchildren, Aria and Cylas Swanson of Chanute and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12th at Countryside Funeral Home in Chanute from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be Friday, March 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Memorials may be made to Castaways Animal Shelter or the Carlie Almond Memorial Scholarship Fund.
