The Mask

The model-turned-actress made her film debut aged 21 starring alongside Jim Carrey in the 1994 comedy 'The Mask'. Diaz plays the character Tina Carlyle, a sultry singer who catches the eye of bank clerk Stanley (Jim Carrey), who finds a magical mask that changes him into a playboy criminal.
There's Something About Mary

Four years later Diaz starred as the titular character in 1994 romantic comedy 'There's Something About Mary' alongside Ben Stiller. Wall Street broker Ted (Stiller) is still in love with his high school crush Mary (Diaz) and decides to look her up years later despite a humiliating incident that took place which cut their communication. The film earnt Diaz further recognition as she was awarded a New York Film Critics Circle award as well as a Golden Globes nomination for Best Actress.
Charlie's Angels

Diaz went on to have even greater commercial success in 2000 action comedy 'Charlie's Angels' where she played secret spy Natalie Cook alongside Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore. The film, which was based on the 1976 TV series of the same name, was a box office success and grossed $93 million at the box office. Diaz reprised her role in the 2003 sequel 'Full Throttle' and in the 2019 remake.
Shrek

One of her most iconic roles is voicing Princess Fiona in animated comedy 'Shrek' opposite 'Austin Powers' actor Mike Myers, who voices the titular ogre. Shrek and his sidekick Donkey (played by Eddie Murphy) is sent on a mission by Lord Farquaad to rescue Princess Fiona from a tower. Shrek ends up falling in love with Princess Fiona who turns into an ogre by night and a princess by day. The success of the film earnt many awards including People's Choice Award for favourite movie. Diaz reprised her role in the second, third and fourth instalments.
Vanilla Sky

In 2001, Diaz starred alongside Tom Cruise as his love interest Julianna Gianni in 'Vanilla Sky'. The film follows the story of magnate David, played by Cruise, who gets into a terrible accident that disfigures his face. David who was a complete narcissist before the accident starts to question his reality and the meaning of life and embarks on a journey to film his soul. The pair reunited again in 2010's action comedy 'Knight and Day' where Diaz plays June Havens a woman who gets dragged into espionage by secret agent Roy Miller.
The Sweetest Thing

The 2002 comedy film, written by Nancy Pimental, starred Diaz, Selma Blair and Christina Applegate and is inspired by Nancy and her friend Kate Walsh's lives. Diaz plays the character Christina, a successful interior designer who breaks her no dating rules by embarking on a mission to find Mr. Right. The three set off on a road trip encountering misadventures on the way.
What Happens in Vegas

However, the pair come to a realisation that in order to receive the prize money they must make their marriage work. My Sister's Keeper

After undergoing multiple surgeries and medical procedures to prolong her sister's life, Anna files for emancipation from her mother Sara (Cameron Diaz).
Bad Teacher

Diaz starred in outrageous 2011 comedy 'Bad Teacher' as less-than-impressive teacher Elizabeth Halsey who is forced to return to her job at a middle school after she's dumped by her rich fiancé. The unmotivated Elizabeth doesn’t care about her students and turns up for work worse for wear. However, once she sets her eyes on rich new substitute teacher Scott Delacorte played by Justin Timberlake, she thinks the only way to land him and other rich men is with a breast enlargement operation. Unable to afford the procedure, Elizabeth gets motivated to teach after realising that the teacher with the highest state tests scores gets a bonus.
The Other Woman

The 2014 comedy movie tells the story of three women who join forces to get revenge after discovering they’ve all been cheated on simultaneously. Diaz plays Carly Whitten who discovers that her boyfriend Mark King (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is married to devoted housewife Kate King (Leslie Mann). Caught in a web of lies, the two team up to make Mark pay for his dishonest actions only to find he's involved with a third woman Amber (Kate Upton).
