A new restaurant, Rosie’s Pizzeria, is opening at 11:30 am today at 221 E. Main Street.

Owner Melissa Bartholomew said it was started partly to give people and families in Chanute a fun place to go in the evenings.

The restaurant features pizza, salads, ice cream and more, as well as a full bar.

There are also several arcade games, which Bartholomew said were well-received during a soft open over the weekend.

“They loved the food,” she said. “Every game in here was being played. They had a blast.”

Bartholomew said people also enjoy paying when they order.

Dishes include several kinds of thin crust pizza, nachos, wings, salads with homemade dressing and hand-dipped ice cream.

Coffee drinks and pasta dishes are planned for the future, as are homemade soups when the weather cools.

Currently, food is dine in or carry out, though Rosie’s is planning pizza delivery in the future.

Business hours are Wednesdays and Thursday 11 am to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to midnight and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.

The business number is (620) 431-6357.
