Ballot drop boxes to be placed

Neosho County received two ballot drop boxes Tuesday for the upcoming election. The boxes will be installed next week outside of the county courthouse in Erie and the judicial center in Chanute. They will be secured to the ground and locked, and the ballots will be picked up each evening. Voters have until the close of the business day Tuesday to register either at the courthouse in Erie or on the Kansas Secretary of State website via sos.ks.gov/elections/voter-information Mail-in ballots will be sent out beginning Wednesday and voters have until Oct. 27 to request mail-in ballots.
